Join us for a weekend dedicated to Slow Bal!
Whether you’re curious to discover the world of Slow Bal or already have plenty of experience, these workshops offer something for you.
We’ll introduce the character and possibilities of the dance while challenging more experienced Slow Bal dancers with fresh concepts, creative variations, and new material. From revisiting the basics to exploring Laminu, experimenting with transitions, and playing with rhythm, we’ll discover new ways to move, connect, and express ourselves through the music.
The weekend is organised into four independent workshop blocks, so you can pick and choose the topics that interest you most or join us for the entire programme. Mix and match as you like and create your own Slow Bal experience!
Inspired by Dean and Nancy Raftery, we’ll take familiar Slow Bal basics a step further! Playing with timing, weight changes, and direction, we’ll turn simple movements into creative and surprising possibilities.
Moving apart and coming back together! We’ll explore playful ways to separate and reconnect, using rotations, direction changes, and smooth transitions between open and closed positions, while keeping the movement natural and musical.
Let’s explore Laminu, inspired by Ray Cunningham and Darleene Lind! We’ll discover its distinctive rhythm, footwork, and rotations, then use these elements as building blocks to expand our Slow Bal vocabulary and create unexpected combinations.
Who says we have to stick to the basic pattern? We’ll explore syncopations, rhythmic variations, and playful pauses, discovering new ways to interpret the music and improvise while staying connected.

You can join individual workshop blocks or enjoy the entire weekend with a Full Pass. Places are limited to ensure a comfortable learning environment and plenty of space to dance.
To keep the classes balanced between leaders and followers, we particularly encourage registrations with a dance partner. If you register individually, your registration will be placed on a waiting list until a dancer in the complementary role and at a similar level registers. Once your place is confirmed, you’ll receive a confirmation email with all the relevant information.
